High School Graduation

The Maiden High School Graduation Ceremony

SMK Seafield created another Red Letter Day yesterday when she launched her maiden graduation ceremony for the High School leavers. Held at Taylor's Lake Side Campus, it was an occasion graced by parents and teachers as well. Being a first attempt, the logistics proved to be challenging but nevertheless with the grit of the Principal, everything fell into place with only a few hiccups.

The school leavers were at their best behaviour and though there was no prior rehearsal, they were able to take instructions from a previous occasion. They succeeded in following the flow of the ceremony and we were especially proud of them when they belted out the National Anthem and School Song with precise enthusiasm and volume. They did not let us down. So we hope and pray that they will perform just as well if not better in the coming public exams to be held very soon.

The walking in ceremony by the honored guests and principal.

 The occasion was graced by the Vice Chancellor and President of Taylor's University ;
Professor Dato' Dr. Hassan Said accompanied by the Principal; Datin Hjh Zaleha Bt Abu Hasan  and the PTA chief, Dato' Seri Hj. Abd Rahman Bin Hj Ali.

The Professor of Taylor's University said he was aware that SMK Seafield has been a 'feeder school' to the Pre university Programmes of the institution and welcomed the connection between them. He was quick to praise the students and their past records of achievement in the institution too. He nevertheless emphasized the need for students to not only be all rounders in life but also to develop great soft skills to tunnel through global challenges. He also reiterated that he would collaborate with the local municipal council to develop better transportation lines for students in Subang Jaya to arrive at the campus in a less hazardous manner. He wished for the best to be with the high school leavers. His presence reinforced an ethos so encouraging for the occasion. The school is indeed privileged to have him as the Honored One of the day.

Some of the students receiving their scrolls; Muzaffar and Sohan.

Pals for life; Eugenia and Eu Nise

The Valedictorians; Huang Sheng ( Form 6) and Goh Ming Yii ( Form 5). They were screened and chosen out of many criteria. They stood the test and proved themselves! They are all rounders and are kind and well-loved by many.

The ceremony was given further colours by this special performance by Imran Haziq Zuhri, Ian and Ryan. They sang happily in tune...

The school has a gem in Samuel. He plays P. Ramlee's Getaran Jiwa with poise and confidence and took away all our hearts.

Singers Imran and May Yean wow the crowd with their melodious voices and tempo. One day, they may just emerge as world class performers. It is always a delight to hear them sing.
So the day ended well with the leavers realizing they are leaving school soon; evoking nostalgia and memories.

May the very best go with them.
God Bless them.

The Cook

Sometimes it is good to have someone who has a penchant for cooking scuffling around the house.
The only one who suffers most is the one who has to do the washing.
Modern cooks with help around just mix and match and leave the rest for others to clear up.
Well, it's better to have good food than to complain !

So, the cook of the house has decided to display skills again!
It is fun to be entertained.
My sister can vouch for that .

You walk into the kitchen and you may see something like that on the table.

Wow, when dad said he wanted bread, she kneaded one for him; herbal.

When the god-mum said she wanted dinner, she prepared a sumptuous one for the family...Paella rice and onion eggs!

Then the god mum said another round please and the doting daughter said it shall be moussaka !
Very creative indeed.

Last night when I came home I asked what's the stick doing in the container? She said it is vanilla stick and it will add fragrance to the sugar. Then I saw cheese being whipped. What's next?

Oh... there was an order for it. So she's baking for commerce now.

When in good moods and you don't gt into her way, she will bake you cup cakes of all kinds and make you glad.

She will delight you further with her home-made ice cream.
It's very good so said the dad and god mum.
She asked me why I don't like her spread, I told her I have a sensitive stomach.
But nevertheless, I affirm her skill and told her she is very clever.

When life is full of many things, I will take a walk around the garden and admire the lovely flowers and reflect her funny ways. She is indeed one to consider.

Transformation !

 Isn't this word familiar? Transformation.
Yes everything needs to be transformed. We need changes. Change for the better.
A most noble calling.
We did it.

Judge for yourselves.

 Books, boxes are strewn.

The charts and papers have no home to go to.

 The forgotten properties.

 Every nook is storage space.

The carnival is over but the reminders remain.

The famous yellow boxes; perfect for storing garbage.

The PIBG judges came, scrutinized and gave marks.
Who will win the 20 prizes?

 Richard said; " It's fun ..."

The discipline teacher is neat for the day.

Garbage and unnecessary details are excluded.

Files and books are well arranged.

Thoughtful teacher thinking of beloved colleagues.

Even the Twin Towers are placed for holding pens.

 Tables are neat and tidy.

There is great effort in making the work place pleasant.

See; little reminders to make life colourful but they do not get into the way.

This is also one of the winning tables.

 Public properties now responsibly used.

Love to see the effort to make the place neat.

Nothing on the shelf; that was an instruction.

 What a difference !

But this is still my favorite table; books neatly stacked up, papers in orderly clumps and rolls of marked sheets.
This is a male teacher's table. Kudos.

Now the coffee area has also been femininely touched. It's like home.

The phone that has the most instructions from me each day...can you please call...can you please come...

At the end of the session as I stood behind and watched; I told myself that the teachers are a great lot.
They did the transformation.

We will see how well the condition is maintained.Who created the word 'spring cleaning' ?
Why the need for it?
Doesn't it mean that there is another round for the future?
Many, many more rounds  I believe. But for the mean time.
We are happy at the present transformation.
Keep up the good effort.
