A Nite of Stars

Soul to Shine
Many shone that evening.
There were too many stars, too many choices and just too good choices.
How does one make a decision?
I was overwhelmed by the versatility of the children. They were good at the musical instruments, vocals and dances. It was indeed a night to exhibit what they had; their latent qualities and capabilities. There was strong mental strength and grit; they had to put on their best. They fought the good fight but like in all competitions there are winners and losers.
The judges made their choices ; so they made some happy and others sad.
But the children must know all is fair in war and love; the winner takes it all and they learn the lesson of acceptance and humility.
They learn to wish the winners well.

The show was made a success with the expert help of Megan and Joshua both of whom studied in Seafield in the mid 2000s.I must not reveal the year; they are very particular that their age be not made known.Megan was candid on stage; how not to with all her experience in Quickie TV8.She took control of every situation and good old Joshua followed suit. The pair did a good job.

He was a winner; the fourth place with his unique style at the guitar. Ryan Tan was cool and steady and held everyone's attention. He deserved the place.

Yes these are some of the winners; Reshmah on the right with her sure-footed Indian Splendour which was an almost perfect dance. Ryan, Zen Yang with sister Vi Jia was fifth in placing and MayYean and Vi Jia again on second place. Who was the winner? The 2 voices of Alyssa and Imran !
But perhaps our great privilege was the presence of Reuben and Jin Lin who are both so popular in the media industry. We were given an unexpected treat when they 'unfold' their latest 'unfold'. They got the audience wild with excitement.
We had stars within and without; a great deal indeed.

The sister and brother team placed fifth.

The support was strong; they even had the most popular star award.
Handsome Ryan took it home !

This petite star made it as the second runner up. She fully deserved the placing with her strong rhythmic dancing steps and expressive eyes, mouth and flexible neck. She gave a good shot.

Yes, listen to them in The Prayer. When my daughter heard them she asked for their age.Their voices did not depict their age. The judges think they are the winners of the night. A PTA member asked if they were really their age; good one.

May Yean and her sweet voice brought credit to "The Rocketeer".

The night was memorable because we were told that we were the first people to watch Jin's 'Unfold'; a love story to tell people to love and appreciate with what you have in life and not let your roving eyes land on the wrong ones. Love and appreciate those who care for you and who are always around you.No need to crave for the unknown. It is better to have a bird in your hand than 2 in the bush; understand?

My most privileged shot with the producer and the cast of Unfold. Watch it in full soon.

A most unforgettable evening and if you have missed it; you have really done so.
