Windsor by Night

 The First Evening
As mentioned earlier, right beside Langton House is a church where we saw some locals walking in for the evening mass.We decided to walk to town for dinner and feel the place. The owner of Langton House told us that there were over 60 restaurants in town serving good food.

That's dad in front of the chapel.

The night was chilly and Sara took the lead; having been to the town on an earlier trip with friends.

We took an interest in the church activities shown in the notice board.
The weather was just too cold for me to handle.

A 6, the town was already deserted. Sara said there are hardly anyone wanting to work after 5pm each day. This is so unlike the working culture back home. The younger people don't seem to go home any earlier than mid night. How does one measure good quality of life? To have more family time or to earn more? After some time, we will realise that family is more important.

At the background is a shadow of the famous Windsor Castle. It is the official residence of the Queen and the Royal family during weekends; I was told. The shops that line up the town carry popular outlets from M&S, Primark and the like. But most were closed by the time we were there.

But we caught a memorable photo of Windsor Castle by night. It was first established by William the Conqueror in the 11th century and later maintained and sustained by monarchs. It is regal and stately so popularly used for ceremonial occasions. Beautiful and majestic.

The Crooked House of the town does look slanted and quaint.
It is an unique building.

Most of the service shops were also over for the evening.

This signboard told us that we need another walk the next day before we leave the town. Eton is just across the Windsor bridge over River Thames. Sara said we must see Eton as it is the town that houses a school for the privilege; where many clamor for.

After an hour's walk and dinner, we were grateful for the warmth of Langton House and rest.
We hoped to snatch a good night's sleep for the travel the next day.

Goodnight.
